About The Position

This role involves fabricating cut aluminum stock using drills and other tools, attaching hardware, and cutting aluminum stock with a saw as needed. The position requires maintaining a neat, safe, and clean work area, inspecting products for abnormalities, and notifying supervisors of any issues. The fabricator must be willing to be cross-trained, work as part of a team, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. A history of great work attendance and a sense of urgency are important for advancement within the organization. This role also includes performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Proficiency in operating machinery.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to use power tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to push weights greater than 150lbs with a team.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must have strong hand-eye coordination/ Detail Oriented.
  • Must be able to follow instructions from Supervisor, Plant Manager and Branch Manager.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 1-2 years of glass or aluminum fabrication, carpentry, or a related manufacturing field.
  • Requires a blend of technical precision, physical stamina, and the ability to operate specialized machinery
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read sketches, operate cutting and polishing equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure.
  • Keen eye for detail
  • ABILITY to stand for 8--10 hours and lift/move heavy glass panels up to 75lbs independently.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (heat, cold, humidity)
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Committed to Safety work practices - Thorough understanding of safety protocols for handling sharp materials and using personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous custom door experience a plus
  • experience preferred waterjets, edging machines, and polishers to shape glass according to work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps work area in a neat, safe, clean, hazard free condition.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at the end of each day.
  • Inspects products for any abnormalities and notifies supervisor immediately of any issues.
  • Must be willing to be cross-trained and move to other areas when needed.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
