About The Position

The Fabrication Technician in an aircraft manufacturing plant is responsible for producing, assembling, and modifying aircraft components and structures in accordance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role supports the manufacturing process by operating fabrication equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring high-quality workmanship in all produced parts.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using fabrication tools and machinery.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and system use.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of aviation safety standards and manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Certification or vocational training in fiberglass or composite materials (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in fiberglass fabrication, repair, or related fields (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install aircraft components using a variety of materials such as aluminum, composites, and alloys.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including cutting tools, drill presses, CNC machines, sheet metal tools, and rollers.
  • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues.
  • Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend process improvements.
