About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the physical cleaning of the church building and works with church and CCA staff as part of the Facilities team. The role involves learning and performing a variety of cleaning tasks and working flexibly with others to complete Facilities department duties. The Custodian may work in both indoor and outdoor environments and may be required to work evenings or weekends for special events, projects, or emergencies affecting church facilities. Staff are expected to attend all-staff and department meetings and serve at major campus events. Requirements

Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and to Calvary Chapel’s philosophy and Statement of Faith.
A desire and calling to serve on the Facilities team and work with church and CCA staff.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic; willingness to work hard at physical tasks daily.
Good physical condition with no physical limitations.
Teachable and willing to learn the cleaning skills needed to clean the church building.
Good interpersonal skills when working with staff, volunteers, outside vendors, and visitors.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and work flexibly with good time-management skills.
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Willingness to follow all aspects of the Employee Handbook, including “Expectations and Work Standards.”
Willingness to adhere to the Leadership Covenant and the faith and service commitments described in the posting.
May need to work evenings or weekends for special events, projects, or emergencies.
May need to bend or stand for prolonged periods and lift, pull, push, or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Clean buildings, including restrooms, floors, glass, and other surfaces; remove waste and stock paper and soap products.
Mop and clean tile floors, vacuum carpets, dust, wipe walls and fixtures, sanitize toilets and sinks, and clean glass and mirror surfaces.
Use tools, equipment, and chemicals to complete cleaning work.
Receive assignments from the Custodial Supervisor or Custodial Lead, complete assigned tasks, and report back to the Overseer for the next assignment.
Assist with the service and care of cleaning equipment, ensuring items are cleaned and properly stored after use.
Perform some pest control duties.
Send reports or information to other staff members or groups when required.
Help manage custodial inventory.
Attend all-staff and department meetings and serve at major campus events.
Perform other tasks, duties, and training as directed by a supervisor.
