About The Position

This is an entry-level position suitable for students with foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed introductory courses. The Custodian role is part of the Facilities Management department. The scope of the position includes sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets, removing trash, and removing water from walkways and driveways. The role also involves hosing down and pressure washing various areas such as the Pacific Pavilion, front entrance, IMAX, Concessions, and Alii Luau areas, as well as any other assigned walkways. The position requires adherence to the University Honor Code, including dress and grooming principles. Preference is given to students available to work during academic breaks. All applicants must be available for an on-site interview.

Requirements

Must be able to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be capable of a full range of body movement.
Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Should have a grammar school education.
No prior work experience necessary.
Must exemplify the University Honor Code, including the dress and grooming principles and expectations.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors.

Removes water from walks and driveways.
Hoses down and pressure washes Pacific Pavilion, front entrance, IMAX, Concessions and Alii Luau areas, and any other walkway in assigned area(s) as needed.
