About The Position

Custodial Staff maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment at Berkeley Preparatory Academy. The position performs cleaning duties, manages supplies, and prepares facilities for daily operations and special events. It also includes groundskeeping, responding to emergency cleaning needs, and assisting with moving furniture and equipment. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the School Operations Administrator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and other school facilities.
• Set up and break down for school events and activities.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to the School Operations Administrator.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed.
• Perform groundskeeping tasks, including trash removal and landscaping.
• Respond promptly to emergency cleaning situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
