About The Position

The Custodian cleans bathrooms, breakrooms, and office areas at the Chariton warehouse. The role is part of the Maintenance department and is accountable to and reports to the Custodial Services Manager and Custodial Lead. There are no positions reporting to this role.

The position requires the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school education or equivalent experience. Zero to one year of similar or related experience is listed. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Zero to one year of similar or related experience.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, 15 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Visual ability including vision from 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more, with or without correction, color vision, field of vision, and depth perception.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, walk, push, stand, feel, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, climb, balance, bend, and perform repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, break rooms, offices, meeting rooms, entrances, and other related facility areas.
• Strip, wax, and varnish floor tile as needed.
• Clean, extract, dry, and vacuum carpets as needed.
• Empty trash and fill dispensers when needed.
• Wash windows.
• Maintain equipment.
• Assist other maintenance personnel with painting.
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
