About The Position

Bishop Walsh School, located in Cumberland, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Custodian for the 2026-2027 academic school year. The Custodian will work collaboratively with the facilities team to ensure that the school campus is clean, safe, and well-maintained for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning and custodial duties, maintaining classrooms and common areas, and supporting the overall operation of the school facility. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Requirements

High School diploma.
Must be able to read and follow directions of supervisor.
Ability to climb stairs while carrying equipment and/or supplies.
Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in difficult weather conditions, including heat and cold, snow and rain, etc.

Responsibilities

Knowledgeable regarding sanitizing rooms, including bathrooms.
Maintain a safe and clean environment.
Follow directions and be able to maintain a cleaning schedule that will change depending on the day of the week.
Perform a variety of custodial maintenance duties including but not limited to dusting, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming floors, snow removal and ice treatment, replenishing restroom supplies.
Perform a variety of custodial sanitizing duties including but not limited to cleaning, disinfecting floors, walls, windows, sinks, counters, toilets, kitchens, water fountains, woodwork, furniture, air intake screens, louvers, fixtures and appliances.
