About The Position

St. Mary's Parish and Schools in Annapolis, MD, are seeking candidates for a Custodian position. The Custodian will be a part of the Facilities team responsible for cleaning both the schools and churches. The role requires a driver's license and a vehicle for transportation to other campuses. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and collaborates with other facilities staff. Availability for on-call emergencies is necessary. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid Maryland driver's license with no more than 3 points.
Must be able to read and follow directions of supervisor.
Ability to climb stairs while carrying equipment and supplies
Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in difficult weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow and rain.

Nice To Haves

Previous cleaning experience is preferred.
Knowledge of safety standards for use of cleaning equipment and products preferred.

Responsibilities

Cleans Church, parish office, community spaces, and school buildings.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors as needed, replenishing restroom supplies.
Knowledgeable regarding sanitizing rooms, including bathrooms.
Washes walls and windows, removes dust and debris as needed.
Select equipment and materials for cleaning, replenishes supplies in buildings as needed.
Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds.
Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs.
