About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean working environment for all staff and visitors at the Salvation Army building and grounds, promoting health and safety. Duties include picking up and taking out trash, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows and mirrors, and performing minor building repairs.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
One year experience performing general housekeeping duties
Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (over 50lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment frequently.
Work requires mobility duties usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching or transporting merchandise on frequent change basis relieved by fewer periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, strips, buffs and waxes floors.
Opens/closes building, as scheduled or needed
Assists in monitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order and replaces light bulbs, as necessary.
Assists in keeping grounds and roof free of trash, leaves, cuts grass or twigs.
