About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for students and staff. The Custodian will be expected to work 12 months a year, 6 hours per day.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to complete a three (3) year work history in the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.
Required documents must be attached at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
Experience with floor care equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, doors, and walls.
Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisor.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners.
Assist with setting up and cleaning up for school events and activities.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
