About The Position

Under the direction of the Principal, performs routine custodial duties in the cleaning and maintenance of a school building and grounds; does related work as required. This is a night shift position working 8 hours per day for 12 months of the year.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to perform routine custodial tasks.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
Ability to operate custodial equipment (e.g., floor buffer, vacuum cleaner).
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Must complete the entire three (3) year work history in the "Experience and Credentials" section of the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.
Required documents for the job must be attached at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial experience in a school setting.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, waxes, and buffs floors.
Cleans and disinfects restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and floors.
Empties trash receptacles and removes trash to designated disposal areas.
Cleans windows, walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
Performs minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening screws, and unstopping drains.
Reports any major maintenance or repair needs to the Principal.
Maintains custodial equipment and supplies.
Assists with groundskeeping duties as needed, such as sweeping walkways and picking up litter.
Ensures the security of the building by locking doors and windows at the end of the shift.
Follows safety procedures and guidelines in the performance of duties.
