About The Position

The Custodian position at San Marcos Elementary School is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant. This role involves a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and security tasks to ensure the school environment is conducive to learning and operations. Requirements

Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Previous custodial experience desired.

Nice To Haves

New Hire Experience compensation: 1% for two or more years of full time like experience and an additional 1% per year not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.
New Hire Education compensation: 1% of hourly rate for a college degree in a similar field, combined with work experience credit not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish the floors and surfaces.
Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment.
Clean assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements.
Empty trash receptacles.
Perform minor repairs.
Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility.
Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance.
Inspect all fire equipment on campus and maintain records of inspection.
Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner.
Secure the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required.
Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff.
Follow district policies as outlined.
Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors.
