About The Position

The Part-Time Custodian position is responsible for performing a variety of routine functions to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained campus environment. This position can work up to 20 hours per week. (Must be 18 or older to apply.)

Requirements

• Must possess current NC Driver’s License
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• General knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
• Must be able to understand oral and written directions and instructions
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to plan and set priorities
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours and assume new assignments
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, doors, glass partitions, and other surfaces.
• Collect daily waste collection, including emptying and disposing of contents from trash containers and outdoor spaces.
• Disinfecting and sanitizing facilities.
• Restoring and maintaining floor finishes through stripping, waxing and refinishing processes.
• Monitoring and replenishing supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and classrooms on a daily basis.
• Operate power equipment, including blowers and vacuums, and motorized vehicles in a safe and effective manner.
• Assist with the receipt, unloading, and delivery of supplies and equipment to designated locations.
• Assist with the setup and arrangement of tables, chairs, and facilities for meetings, special events, and other college functions.
• Serve in implementing the strategic plan to assure appropriate consideration of fiscal and related matters to adhere to the college’s mission, vision and value.
