About The Position

The Custodian position at the Brandywine YMCA Family Location is a seasonal role from June to August, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the building facility and property. This includes tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal. The role also involves ensuring restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, program rooms, and fitness centers are clean and safe. Additionally, the custodian will assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for events, refilling bathroom supplies, performing light maintenance, and notifying management of repair needs. During winter months, assistance with snow removal may be required.

Requirements

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Maintain and keep building facility and property in clean and orderly condition such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming in addition to gathering and emptying trash.
Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, program rooms, fitness centers and outside grounds are clean and safe.
Move furniture and equipment as required to properly and thoroughly clean areas including windows.
Assist with setting up rooms for meetings and events and breaking down of seating and equipment.
Ensure bathroom supplies including and not limited to, toilet tissue, towels, soap etc. are refilled.
During winter months be prepared to assist with snow removal.
Perform light maintenance tasks as assigned.
Notify managers regarding the need for repairs.
