About The Position
Waypoint is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Seasonal Lifeguard to support daily operations at our waterfront throughout the summer. The waterfront is open to Waypoint employees and their families, as well as Waypoint members when accompanied by staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, values teamwork, and is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Willingness to follow all agency policies and procedures
- Willingness to attend mandated state and/or agency training
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with participants and staff
Nice To Haves
- Watercraft experience
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Lifeguard certification
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Boat Safety course completion
Responsibilities
- Monitor swimming areas and oversee all waterfront activity
- Enforce safety rules and agency policies
- Supervise the use of water equipment and support boating activities
- Assist with general waterfront operations and respond to safety concerns
- Provide clear communication and direction to participants of all ages
