About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas. Responsibilities may include cleaning assigned areas; setting up for events; and/or training new staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • Related experience preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of applicable tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques
  • Knowledge of applicable cleaning chemicals
  • Knowledge of safe work practices
  • Knowledge of methods of training staff
  • Knowledge of supply and equipment ordering
  • Skills in cleaning work areas
  • Skills in setting up for events
  • Skills in training staff
  • Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans assigned areas, including: waxing floors; vacuuming floors; washing windows; emptying trash; and cleaning restrooms.
  • Sets up chairs, tables, and stages for events.
  • Trains and/or monitors staff to ensure proper completion of work.
  • Orders equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.
