About The Position

Campus Services Group is hiring a part-time custodian to help maintain a clean and safe school environment at 4263 3rd Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457. The role involves daily janitorial work in areas such as entryways, corridors, classrooms, cafeterias, bathrooms, and other common spaces. The custodian works with staff and students to meet cleanliness and customer-service standards. The listed schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with hours shown as 6 a.m.–10 p.m.

The position pays $18.00–$19.00 per hour. A high school diploma or equivalent and previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting are preferred. The position requires reliability, the ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks, and the ability to complete responsibilities without supervision after training. Physical requirements include standing and walking for 6–8 hours per day and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work around food and cleaning products, comply with applicable COVID-19 vaccination policies, and provide a criminal background check.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

• Ability to complete responsibilities without supervision after training.
• Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customer requirements.
• Must provide a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial tasks in entryways, corridors, classrooms, cafeterias, and common areas to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, floors, and commodes, and replenish lavatory supplies as needed.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and remove graffiti.
• Use cleaning solutions safely and follow safety precautions.
• Report equipment or cleaning product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
• Assist with event support and respond promptly to paging systems.
• Follow infection-control and handwashing procedures.
• Consistently meet customer-service and cleaning standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
