About The Position

Stockton Unified School District (SUSD) is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial work in the care of assigned buildings and grounds according to an assigned work schedule. This role involves receiving general instruction from a Head Custodian/Lead Custodian and may receive technical and functional supervision from a Custodial/Grounds Supervisor or Designee. The position operates on a shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Requirements

Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to six months of custodial experience, preferably in a school district.
SUSD Custodial Training Certificate.

Responsibilities

Sweep, scrub, wax and polish linoleum, and various types of floors.
Vacuum rugs and carpets.
Clean and dust furniture, woodwork and equipment.
Wash, scrub and disinfect restrooms.
Disinfect all flat surfaces.
Clean windows, door glass and drinking fountains.
Clean and polish metal works such as door panels and hand railings.
Empty and clean waste containers.
Pick up litter on grounds and sweep walks, halls and entrances.
Move and rearrange chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other equipment.
Maintain equipment used in the course of work and report any items requiring maintenance.
Report safety, sanitary and fire hazards.
May perform routine grounds keeping duties.
May secure buildings at end of shift.
Perform special custodial work upon request of staff members.
Maintain regular and prompt attendance in the work place.
Perform related duties as assigned.
