About The Position

GRBS, Inc. is hiring custodians to provide coverage for employee call-offs and clean open areas throughout Byron Center Public Schools. Work opportunities may vary depending on staffing needs. The role offers flexible scheduling; employees must be available at least three days per week and at least three hours each evening. The position may suit people seeking flexible work and additional income.

Custodians help maintain clean and safe school facilities by cleaning classrooms, common areas, and restrooms; handling floors, trash, and recycling; reporting maintenance and safety concerns; and assisting with event setup and cleanup as needed. Additional cleaning duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid ID required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be available at least three days per week and at least three hours each evening.
• Dependable and reliable, positive and team-oriented, customer service focused, self-motivated and hardworking, detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and committed to consistent attendance.
• Individuals with theft-, violence-, or drug-related backgrounds will not qualify for employment due to Michigan Public School requirements.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Dust and clean classrooms and common areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Empty trash and recycling.
• Maintain clean and safe school facilities.
• Report maintenance and safety concerns.
• Assist with event setup and cleanup as needed.
• Complete additional cleaning duties as assigned.
