About The Position
This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Custodian will maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas, by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal. They will also be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, replenishing supplies, and reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. Additionally, the Custodian may be required to assist with minor repairs, set up and take down furniture for events, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming assigned areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors, and restock supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist with setting up and taking down furniture for school events.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
