This position is responsible for providing general housekeeping and custodial services for the assigned department. The Custodian will perform general housekeeping and custodial services for the Animal Control department. Duties include checking the security of doors, emptying trash cans, cleaning and restocking restrooms, vacuuming offices, mopping, stripping and waxing floors, replacing light bulbs, cleaning windows, and dusting furniture. The role also involves inspecting the grounds surrounding the building and picking up trash, notifying supervisors of the need for major repairs, and maintaining timecards, work orders, and work receipts. The Custodian will utilize various cleaning equipment and ensure all work is done according to standard practices, design specifications, and County and local building codes. Proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment, adherence to safety regulations, and reporting of all accidents are also key responsibilities. The position represents the Department and County to other staff and the public, provides customer service, and demonstrates the organization's Core Values and Ethics policy.
