About The Position

Provides custodial services at assigned sites to maintain an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Performs special cleaning operations and assists in preparing facilities for classroom activities and building events. This is a roving position within secondary school buildings and may occasionally cover elementary-level positions. The schedule is a minimum of 28.75 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.; the schedule varies based on location and assignment. The hourly wage at Step One is $18.63. Training is provided. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, twist, stoop, reach, and kneel; work at heights and ascend and descend ladders; communicate clearly in normal conversation and hear and understand speech; and lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a sanitation, custodial, or maintenance position is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers; and wash windows.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
• Assist with setting up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
• Strip, clean, and buff hard-surface floors and apply floor sealer and finish; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Assist with landscaping and snow removal as necessary.
• Help maintain building security during shifts.
