About The Position
The Retail Custodian helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment for customers and team members. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, break rooms, sales floors, processing areas, loading docks, and other store spaces; handling routine cleaning and waste disposal; and restocking restroom supplies. The custodian safely uses and maintains cleaning products and equipment, keeps supplies organized, and reports spills, safety hazards, or maintenance concerns to management. The position works alongside the store team to support a positive shopping experience and a safe, comfortable workplace. Friendly, courteous interactions with customers, donors, and coworkers are expected. Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is welcome but not required; on-the-job training is provided.
Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, trash, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive experience for customers and coworkers.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced retail environment and adapting to changing priorities.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the store.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, sales floors, processing areas, loading docks, and other store areas.
- Sweep, mop, dust, wipe surfaces, and complete routine cleaning tasks.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and equipment.
- Empty trash containers and dispose of waste properly.
- Restock restroom supplies, including paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Safely use and maintain cleaning carts, equipment, and cleaning products.
- Organize and properly store cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Identify and report spills, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns to management.
- Follow company cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers, donors, and team members.
- Work with the store team to help maintain a clean and organized shopping environment.
