About The Position

The Custodian position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of various facility areas, both interior and exterior. This includes common areas, offices, restrooms, production floor drains, breakrooms, parking lots, and dumpster areas. The role also involves restocking supplies, inventorying and ordering cleaning chemicals, writing work orders for maintenance needs, and adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures. The Custodian will also support plant TPM goals, participate in teams, cover other janitorial areas as needed, and handle special assignments. Management reserves the right to modify duties.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning of facility common areas including Front Office, Conference Rooms, Lunch Rooms, Driver's room, Shipping Office/Docks, Maintenance areas, Receiving Office/Docks, Team Room, Restrooms, Janitorial Closet, GMP Walkways, Outside Smoking and Gathering Areas, Main Employee Parking Lot, and additional exterior areas.
  • Cleaning of plant drains on the production floor (clean & sanitize).
  • Emptying garbage and performing perimeter cleaning of all buildings.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, washing windows, and dusting.
  • Cleaning sinks and toilets.
  • Cleaning breakroom areas: tables, chairs, coffee pots, microwaves, counters, refrigerators, and floors underneath vending machines, refrigerators, and ice machines.
  • Performing outside duties: garbage pick-up in parking lots and around buildings, landscaping, emptying cigarette containers and picking up butts, cleaning and maintaining outside dumpster areas, and perimeter cleaning/sweeping.
  • Completing deep cleaning and sanitation PMs in Restrooms, Facility Storage Areas, and Exterior Grounds.
  • Restocking supplies such as hand towels, toilet paper, soap, napkins, utensils, and sugar.
  • Inventorying, ordering, and stocking Janitorial Cleaning chemicals by communicating with the supplier.
  • Writing work orders for needed maintenance.
  • Working in a safe and controlled manner, following all safety guidelines and procedures when operating equipment and handling chemicals.
  • Completing daily sanitation checklist duties following authorized SOPs and maintaining areas in compliance with AIB requirements.
  • Supporting plant TPM goals and participating on TPM teams as required.
  • Participating in NWTs.
  • Covering other janitorial areas for vacations and absenteeism.
  • Handling special assignments or other duties as assigned by Facility Management.
