About The Position

Carter’s Inc. is seeking a Custodian to clean offices, break rooms and areas, restrooms, and other assigned areas. The role includes maintaining an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and communicating supply needs to the maintenance department. The custodian must wear appropriate safety equipment, work boots, and gloves as required. Additional distribution functions, including support for maintenance activities, may be assigned.

This position works in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment. Employees must be flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based on business needs, including daily overtime, holidays, and consecutive days of work. The position involves prolonged standing and physical exertion, repetitive lifting of cases weighing up to 50 pounds, and work in varying to extreme temperatures. Holiday schedules and blackout periods are determined by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of work experience preferred.
• Availability to work different shifts and extended hours based on business needs.
• Ability to stand and work for long periods, including daily overtime, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Ability to perform intermittent continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
• Ability to repetitively lift cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying to extreme temperatures.
• Availability to work consecutive days, potentially 14 or more days in a row.
• Compliance with management-determined blackout periods when vacation or personal time is not allowed.

Responsibilities
