About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for students and staff at Green Valley High School. The Custodian will be expected to maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and other school facilities. This role involves both routine cleaning duties and occasional repair or maintenance tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to complete a full seven-year work history, including periods of unemployment, in the application's 'Experience and Credential' section.
Must have required documents attached as listed in the job description.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces.
Maintain the cleanliness of hallways, stairwells, and common areas.
Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Assist with setting up and cleaning up for school events or activities.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
