About The Position

Legacy Charter School is seeking a dependable, full-time Custodian for the 2026–2027 school year to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout its facilities. The role is responsible for the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the building, both inside and out. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, able to perform physical tasks, and capable of working independently. Previous custodial or building maintenance experience is preferred in the position summary, while the requirements section states that previous custodial or janitorial experience is required.

Requirements

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is required.
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Very good physical condition and strength.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma (preferred but not required).
• Previous building maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare spaces for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, and restock disposables such as soap.
• Wipe mirrors and windows and maintain exterior premises by cleaning entrances and picking up trash.
• Report damages to the engineer and assist where needed.
• Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting the alarm.
• Perform occasional custodial and janitorial tasks, such as shoveling sidewalk snow, lifting heavy items, and moving chairs.
