About The Position

Trademasters Service, an award-winning federal contractor with over 30 years of industry experience, is seeking a Supervisor for its Custodial Team. This role will oversee a team of six custodians, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in prestigious federal office buildings in NE Washington DC. The position requires schedule flexibility, including potential after-hours and weekend work, as it is considered essential personnel. The supervisor will train staff, manage cleaning operations, and contribute to the overall success of the facility management services provided by Trademasters.

Requirements

  • 3 years of supervisory experience in the past 7 years, leading cleaning staff in commercial, hospital, or preferably a high-profile federal office environment.
  • 5 years of experience cleaning commercial, hospital, or government facilities in the past 7 years.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written communication skills).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to track and complete paperwork/documents.
  • Understanding of the upkeep, care, and safe operation of motorized cleaning equipment (e.g., auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, trash compactor, genie lift, pressure washer, box compactor, sweeper).
  • Ability to pass a background check and U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ) security clearance for federal property access (a 3-4 month process).
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and on-going drug screens.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of ASTM green cleaning standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a team of six custodians to ensure cleanliness and sanitation throughout building areas, rooms, and outside grounds.
  • Training staff in proper cleaning techniques, procedures, and the safe use of tools, equipment, compounds, and chemicals.
  • Contributing effectively to the team in accomplishing goals, objectives, and activities.
  • Scheduling, directing, and training custodial staff.
  • Inspecting work and generating reports for Project Management.
  • Ensuring and promoting a safe working environment.
  • Consistently demonstrating a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Completing daily duties and maintaining daily upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Holding staff accountable to tasks and schedules.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary action for staff, as needed.
  • Ensuring equipment, building, grounds, and property are secure during shifts and reporting incidents and hazardous conditions to management.
  • Developing purchase requests for cleaning supplies/equipment and managing inventory.
  • Escorting vendors and visitors as required in secured facilities.
  • Tracking and scheduling third-party contractors for snow removal and equipment service.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
