About The Position

Koniag Professional Services (KPS), a Koniag Government Services company, is hiring a Lead Custodian. This is a union position. All benefits will be provided by the CBA. The Lead Custodian is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and assigning tasks to custodial staff, providing guidance and training, and assisting in hiring and onboarding. They will oversee routine and specialized cleaning projects, inspect work for quality, and develop cleaning schedules and procedures. This role also involves managing inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, acting as a point of contact between staff and management, and ensuring adherence to federal facility cleaning protocols and regulations. The Lead Custodian will handle complex cleaning tasks, assist with event setup/cleanup, and report maintenance issues or safety hazards. They will lead the team in balancing cleaning loads for compliant results. The position reports to CE and is responsible for various areas including offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Capable of performing heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, and washing walls.
  • Experience in managing custodial care projects
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be dependable, hardworking, conscientious, cooperative, and able to work independently.
  • Custodial, carpet, and floor care experience.
  • Mandatory-Advanced Custodial Technical Certification from the Cleaning Management Institute (CMI)

  • Prefer high school diploma.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team in cleaning load balance for compliant results.
