About The Position

The Custodian Shift Supervisor assists the Sustainability Custodial Management in the maintenance of casino structures, facilities, and grounds by managing day-to-day activities of subordinate Team Members. Directly supervises all work, work projects, special projects, and overall maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of all faculties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Facility Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of prior experience in a facilities department.
  • Two years of prior experience in a supervisory or management position.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely and cooperatively with all other building and maintenance Team Members, all outside contractors, consultants, managers within the gaming operations, and appropriate personnel.
  • Sets schedules for Team Members and assigns work.
  • Responsible for maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Ensures that all work is performed in compliance with applicable tribal, state, federal safety, and worked protection laws.
  • Works with management to plan, schedule, and budget routine building and grounds maintenance activities.
  • Completes Team Member evaluations and recommends personnel actions as appropriate.
  • Keeps timecards and other paperwork.
  • Takes requests for work and schedules accordingly.
  • Reports to the Sustainability Custodial Manager any situations that may require attention or potential problem areas beyond their daily responsibilities.
  • Assists with Casino promotional events, meetings, seating arrangements, and holiday decorations.
  • Maintains awareness of utilities locations, electrical panels, A/C unit thermostats etc. and follows proper procedures should they require attention.
  • Coordinates with other shift supervisors to ensure efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Trains, mentors, develops, coaches, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, and recommends disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
