About The Position

The Custodian/Mover is responsible for delivering, setting up, and tearing down materials and furniture, performing project cleaning, and completing related duties. This vehicle- and equipment-operator position involves occasional heavy manual lifting. The role may also include regular housekeeping duties, mail and package delivery, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a pay rate of $20.76 per hour.

Requirements

Prior experience making deliveries and/or completing housekeeping tasks is highly desirable.
Ability to use small tools to assemble furniture and equipment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to operate power equipment related to housekeeping tasks.
Ability to carry materials, equipment, and furnishings by lifting or using transporting devices such as dollies and carriers.
Valid Michigan driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Good organizational skills for completing logs, reporting hours, filling out work orders, and completing other necessary reports.

Responsibilities

Load, deliver, unload, set up, and tear down materials, equipment, and furnishings as directed.
Perform regular housekeeping duties when assigned.
Complete required daily maintenance logs and other logs and reports.
Deliver mail and packages for the mail room as directed.
Clean trucks on the assigned schedule or as needed to maintain effective operation.
Keep equipment clean, orderly, and in good repair, and communicate vehicle and equipment repair needs to the supervisor.
Wash vehicles as requested by the supervisor.
Comply with federal, state, and local laws and policies regulating safety and load limits.
Communicate progress, problems, and other issues to the supervisor.
Follow proper procedures when encountering suspected asbestos-containing material to avoid personal exposure, job-site contamination, and exposure of facility occupants.
