About The Position
Buildings and General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an entry level opportunity with room for growth as a Custodian II. This position will be maintaining the buildings at the Waterbury Complex working with a diverse and team oriented group. Job responsibilities will be daily cleaning of the buildings in the complex. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:30pm. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a criminal background check are required. BGS provides the facilities services required for all state agencies and departments to accomplish their missions. As part of the Operations and Maintenance Division you will be an essential team member and part of the largest division in BGS. The starting rate may be negotiable based on experience and education. This position is eligible for a sign-on and retention bonus of up to $1000! Only new hires employed by BGS in the location specified in this job posting are eligible for this bonus program. Requirements
- One (1) year or more of building custodial work that includes floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction.
- One (1) year as a BGS Custodian I.
- A valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs.

Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of the buildings in the complex.
- Addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious material.
