About The Position

The Custodian II performs manual custodial and housekeeping work at an assigned Tribal Facilities Program facility. The role includes varied cleaning, minor maintenance, and repair tasks conducted according to established routines. Specific instructions are provided for unusual assignments, and work is inspected during or after completion for compliance with instructions and standards. The job frequently requires moving or lifting equipment and materials. The position is based in the Facilities Department in Winnebago, Nebraska, and reports to the Custodian Supervisor. It is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position paying $19.64 per hour. The employee must demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values, attend required company and departmental meetings, and perform other related work as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Some knowledge of materials, methods, equipment, and procedures used in cleaning operations.
Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, and other custodial equipment.
Ability to use care when selecting and applying cleaning materials to different types of surfaces.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work effectively with other employees and staff.
Ability to occasionally perform heavy manual work, including lifting over 50 pounds.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform reading, writing, calculating, social interaction, and reasoning or analysis tasks, and to work with minimal supervision.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Must comply with applicable criminal-record-check requirements, including signing the required declaration concerning arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe's core mission, vision, and values.
Clean and disinfect restrooms and water fountains, and replenish restroom supplies.
Change light bulbs and ballasts, unclog sinks and toilets, and report needed repairs.
Sweep, vacuum, wax, mop, and buff floors; dust and clean offices, rooms, cafeteria, gym, and related areas.
Collect and remove trash, and wash walls and windows.
Make minor repairs as needed and report major damage or repairs.
Keep janitorial equipment and machinery clean and in good operating condition.
Move furniture and equipment, set up rooms and the gym, and keep walks clear of snow.
Stock restroom supplies and strip and wax floors when assigned.
Attend required company and departmental meetings and perform related work as required.
