About The Position

Buildings & General Service (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an opportunity with room for growth as a Custodian II within the Operations & Management Division. This position will be responsible for the daily custodial duties in state facilities at the Costello Court House in Burlington, as well as part of a team that performs these duties in other state facilities in the area. Travel between these facilities may be required and will utilize a state owned and/or a privately owned vehicle. This position will work Monday through Friday, 12:00pm to 8:30pm. This position requires successful completion of multiple background checks and a valid driver's license. This position is eligible for a sign-on and retention bonus of up to $1000! Only new hires employed by BGS as a BGS Custodian II in the location specified in this job posting are eligible for this bonus program. Requirements

  • One (1) year or more of building custodial work that includes floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction.
  • One (1) year as a BGS Custodian I.
  • Successful completion of multiple background checks.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift weights of up to 50-lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily custodial duties in state facilities at the Costello Court House in Burlington.
  • Perform custodial duties in other state facilities in the area as part of a team.
  • Address bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious material.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather.
