About The Position

Buildings & General Service (BGS) at the State of Vermont is seeking a dependable Custodian II within the Operations & Maintenance Division. This position will be responsible for the daily custodial duties in state facilities at the Colchester Health Lab, as well as part of a larger team that performs these duties in other state facilities in the area. Travel between these facilities may be required and will utilize a state owned and/or a privately owned vehicle. This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of multiple background checks. This is a full-time position and the hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. This position is eligible for a sign-on and retention bonus of up to $1000! Only new hires employed by BGS as a BGS Custodian II in the location specified in this job posting are eligible for this bonus program. Requirements

  • One (1) year or more of building custodial work that includes floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction.
  • One (1) year as a BGS Custodian I.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Own transportation for travel between work locations (for some positions).
  • Ability to pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily custodial duties in state facilities at the Colchester Health Lab.
  • Perform custodial duties in other state facilities in the area as part of a larger team.
  • Address bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious material.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather.
