About The Position

The Toro Company in Tomah, Wisconsin is seeking a Custodian II for their 2nd shift. This role is responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of the building, including cleaning, minor repairs, and groundskeeping. The Custodian II will also operate various equipment and perform seasonal maintenance tasks. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant maintenance experience, and proficiency in safety regulations and equipment operation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
2+ years of relevant maintenance experience
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals
Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Strong interpersonal skills in working with a variety of cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards
Must be certified to operate a forklift or have the ability to obtain certification

Responsibilities

Sweeping and mopping interior and exterior building areas
Emptying waste containers
Washing windows
Maintaining restrooms, lights, pipes, and water fountains
Cleaning the cafeteria
Observing for unusual conditions or necessary cleaning in the plant
Performing painting, minor drywall repairs, light electrical work (testing outlets and replacing fixtures), and plumbing tasks
Operating equipment such as floor sweepers, compactors, and forklifts
Using power tools including drills, meters, and saws
Performing salt application and snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, and Bobcats
Conducting lawn care, including mowing, trimming, and seeding as needed
Performing sprinkler system maintenance, including replacing and repairing sprinkler heads and lines, and annual blowouts
Backfilling for Custodian I roles
Performing other duties as assigned
