About The Position

The TEA Center is seeking a dependable Custodian & General Maintenance Technician to keep its facility clean, safe, and welcoming for students, families, and staff. The position handles daily cleaning and light repairs to maintain the learning spaces.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with work hours to be announced. The description lists 6 to 8 hours per day and notes that weekends may be announced. Pay is $14 to $16 per hour. Requirements

• Reliable and punctual, with availability for 6 to 8 hours a day Monday to Friday; weekends may be announced.
• Ability to work independently and manage time well.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, and climb a ladder, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to pass a background check, as the role is around children.

Nice To Haves

• Prior custodial, janitorial, or building maintenance experience.
• Basic skills in painting, carpentry, or general repairs.
• Experience in a school or childcare setting.
• Own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, the lobby, hallways, and common areas daily.
• Empty trash, restock paper products, soap, and sanitizer, and manage cleaning inventory.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean windows and glass.
• Set up and break down rooms and furniture for classes and events.
• Perform minor repairs and upkeep, including patching and painting, replacing light bulbs and filters, tightening or replacing hardware, and assembling furniture.
• Inspect the facility regularly and report safety hazards or larger repair needs to management.
• Coordinate with outside licensed contractors when needed for electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work.
• Follow safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals.
• Keep the front entrance, tour route, and exterior areas tidy.
