About The Position

Washington State University Facilities Services is hiring a permanent, full-time Custodian 3 for its Pullman campus. The role leads assigned personnel by assigning tasks, providing instructions, checking others’ work, maintaining custodial inventory, and conducting training. It also performs custodial work, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, snow removal, emptying waste baskets, cleaning floors, dusting, and cleaning furniture. The position works Monday through Saturday, 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., and is overtime eligible. The monthly salary range is $3,485 to $4,633. Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the range, with scheduled salary increases. Placement depends on relevant experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Its staff include skilled tradespeople, custodians, architects, engineers, interior designers, and support staff, and the department emphasizes integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and lasting solutions.

Requirements

• Physical ability to perform the required work.
• One year of experience in housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance, or custodial work; or one year of experience as a lead; or equivalent education and experience.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of in-depth knowledge of custodial procedures as performed in Facilities Operations.

Responsibilities
