Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of buildings and grounds. This includes tasks such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, floor stripping and waxing, furniture dusting, restocking restrooms, carpet shampooing, trash removal, cleaning ashtrays, washing walls, windows, doors, woodwork, and mirrors. Additionally, the role involves shoveling snow, moving furniture, replacing ceiling tiles and light bulbs, mowing lawns, trimming bushes and shrubs, and pulling weeds. The position also requires maintaining supply inventory, requisitioning supplies, preparing and maintaining records and reports, attending training sessions and staff meetings, and performing other related duties as required. The Custodial Worker 2 operates necessary equipment like vacuum cleaners, buffers, scrubbers, and snow blowers, and utilizes cleaning tools and agents. Routine maintenance and repair tasks, such as cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating equipment, and cleaning/changing filters, are also part of the job. The role may involve assisting maintenance personnel with major repairs and performing ground maintenance. Demonstrating regular and predictable attendance and performing duties of co-workers as required are essential. The position may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, working in extreme temperatures, in awkward positions, or on ladders, and working outdoors in inclement weather. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs without a material handling device and the ability to use and wear personal protective equipment, including respirators, safety glasses, body harnesses, arc flash clothing, fire-rated shirts, earplugs/muffs, and hand protection. There are also maximum weight requirements for ladders.
