As a Custodial Worker 1 with the Department of Human Services (DHS) at Norristown State Hospital, you will help keep the facility clean and welcoming for everyone who depends on its services. Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
Responsibilities
- Dust, mop, strip, wax, and polish floors
- Clean carpets and shampoo when necessary
- Clean baseboards in assigned areas
- Spot clean walls
- Wipe windows and sills
- Clean stairwells
- Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, lavatories, and replace related supplies
- Complete terminal cleaning of beds, dressers, lockers, cabinets, and replace mattresses
- Gather and remove trash
- Sweep walkways and entrances
- Shovel snow when needed
- Clean water coolers
- Maintain dietary areas and equipment
- Replace light bulbs
- Clean light fixtures
- Report maintenance needs and housekeeping supply shortages to the supervisor
- Complete required documentation
