About The Position

This Custodial Worker 1 position is located in the Maintenance/Custodial Department of the Southeastern Veterans Center, one of six residential long-term care facilities operated by the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs. Your careful cleaning and attention to detail will help create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This job is for a positive and productive person who takes pride in cleaning and helping others!

Requirements

• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Satisfactory completion of a medical examination may be required.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance, may be required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all restrooms and restock essential supplies
• Carry out cleaning tasks in resident rooms, offices, and public spaces, including mopping, dusting, polishing, sweeping, and buffing
• Empty waste containers, dispose of trash and recyclables, and transport infectious waste to designated areas
• Pick up or deliver cleaning supplies and move furniture or equipment as needed for cleaning or room rearrangement
• Maintain a safe work environment, report hazards or issues, and follow all departmental safety rules
• Remove snow, clear debris from walkways, and support related outdoor maintenance activities
