About The Position

Skidmore College is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodial Technician (E-Tech) to maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus buildings. This on-call position may lead to full-time employment for interested candidates. Duties include general and specialized cleaning, event setup, and may also include snow removal, minor maintenance, handling recyclable or hazardous materials, and special assignments involving pool or recycling responsibilities. The technician must be comfortable using hand tools and cleaning equipment and following safety protocols.

Pay is $20.72 per hour under the union contract, with additional pay depending on the assigned shift. Employment is contingent upon acceptable post-offer background check, physical, and drug screening results.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math and reading comprehension.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus buildings.
• Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom sanitation, and trash removal.
• Set up for events.
• May perform snow removal and minor maintenance.
• May handle recyclable or hazardous materials.
• May take on pool or recycling responsibilities.
• Use hand tools and cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
