About The Position

Skidmore College is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Custodial Technician (E-Tech) to maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus buildings. The role includes general and specialized cleaning, event setup, and may include snow removal, minor maintenance, and handling recyclable or hazardous materials. Special assignments may involve pool or recycling responsibilities. The technician must be comfortable using hand tools and cleaning equipment and following safety protocols. This is a 40-hour-per-week position, Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday off. Pay is $20.72 per hour under the union contract, with additional pay depending on the assigned shift. Employment is contingent upon acceptable post-offer background check, physical, and drug screening results.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Basic math and reading comprehension.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
A valid driver's license may be required.
Willingness to attend training and work weekends or overtime as needed.
Comfort using hand tools and cleaning equipment and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and safety of campus buildings.
Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom sanitation, and trash removal.
Set up spaces for events.
As assigned, perform snow removal and minor maintenance.
Handle recyclable or hazardous materials as assigned.
Carry out special assignments that may include pool or recycling responsibilities.
Use hand tools and cleaning equipment while following safety protocols.
