About The Position
The Custodial Helper assists the plant manager in maintaining the safety, security, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical plant. This role involves cleaning various areas of the school, responding to requests, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be able to comprehend instructions on the operation of equipment of all types.
- Must be able to comprehend instructions on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operations.
- Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.
- Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised buildings, in attic spaces, toilet room enclosures, etc., often necessitating carrying tools, building materials, etc.
- Comprehend written instructions.
- Conduct activities in group settings maintaining an objective attitude, decorum, and diplomacy, tact and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.
- Clean walls and windows.
- Check dressing rooms.
- Clean classroom units according to schedule and specific school needs.
- Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager, and/or assistant custodian.
- Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.
- Read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.
- Conduct activities in group settings maintaining an objective attitude, decorum, and diplomacy, tact, and discretion.
