About The Position

The Cushion Sewing Associate operates sewing machines to align fabric and create upholstered cushions for furniture. The role involves sewing different products and stitch types according to production tickets, specifications, notes, and established standards. The associate maintains equipment and an orderly work area, follows safety procedures, and works with a team to meet or exceed production goals. Cross-training in other departments may be required as needed.

Requirements

• Good hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with different types of sewing machines.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Manual dexterity to assemble products or operate machines as directed.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs. and rarely lift or carry objects weighing 26–75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous sewing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sew different products, including cushions, top stitch, saddle stitch, and welt.
• Adhere to established sewing standards.
• Adjust machines to stitch various types of fabrics.
• Read and follow sewing instructions, specifications, and notes.
• Use production tickets to sew fabric as requested.
• Maintain equipment and keep the work area orderly.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Work as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals.
• Learn additional functions through cross-training in other departments as needed.
