About The Position

This position is required to sew leather flatwork for upholstered furniture. The associate will adhere to established sewing standards including: ½ seams, sewing is straight and in alignment with cover pattern, and no drop stitches. They will adjust machines to stitch various leather materials and read and follow instructions to sew specs and notes provided. The role requires good hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and a demonstrated attention to detail. The associate will maintain equipment and work area in an orderly manner, and must be able to sew flatwork for different products, including top stitch and welt. They must be able to work with different types of sewing machines and work off production work tickets to sew leather to request. The role involves working as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals and requires adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned may also be part of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous sewing experience a plus.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to work in noisy environments.
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed.
• Occasional lifting/carrying objects up to 25 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 26-75 lbs.
