About The Position

This position operates sewing machines to align fabric and create upholstered cushions for furniture. The associate sews different products, including cushions, using techniques such as top stitching, saddle stitching, and welting. The role follows sewing standards and production-ticket specifications, maintains equipment and an orderly work area, follows safety policies, and works with a team to meet or exceed production goals. The associate may cross-train in other departments as needed.

The work involves prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks in a noisy environment. Manual dexterity is required to assemble products or operate machinery. The position may require occasional lifting or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds and rare lifting or carrying of objects weighing 26–75 pounds. Requirements

• Good hand-eye coordination, concentration, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with different types of sewing machines.
• Ability to perform prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks.
• Manual dexterity to assemble products or operate machinery as directed.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous sewing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machines to align fabric and create upholstered furniture cushions.
• Sew different products, including cushions, using top stitching, saddle stitching, and welting.
• Adhere to established sewing standards and adjust machines to stitch different types of fabric.
• Read and follow instructions, specifications, and notes provided for sewing assignments.
• Use production tickets to sew fabric as requested.
• Maintain sewing equipment and keep the work area orderly.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Work as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals.
• Learn additional functions by cross-training in other departments as needed.
