About The Position
The Interim Superintendent of Schools is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee members for the Music - Grades K-12 committee. This role will serve as needed from August 2026 to August 2027.
Requirements
- Hold a New York State certification in music.
- Currently employed with Buffalo Public Schools as a temporary, probationary, or tenured teacher.
- Experience in classroom music or instrumental music.
- Knowledge of the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts.
- Currently teaching K-8 classroom music.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Supervisor of Music.
- Complete a variety of assignments within a mandated time frame.
- Evaluate instructional materials.
- Develop pertinent curriculum documents aligned to the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts.
- Participate in professional development to turnkey and provide support to music colleagues.
