About The Position

Dairy Farmers of America is hiring motivated production workers for a facility transitioning from a fluid dairy plant to a culture plant producing cottage cheese, sour cream, and yogurt. The Production Worker supports safe, quality-focused, and efficient plant operations while following company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and sanitation requirements. The role includes operating production equipment, performing product checks, maintaining cleanliness, and communicating information between shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must pass pre-employment drug, background, and criminal checks.
Ability to stand, walk, pull, push, reach, and bend for virtually the entire shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, assist others with lifting when necessary, and manually stack and move cases 6–8 cases high.
Ability to work in a wet environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Promote a safety-conscious facility culture, challenge unsafe behaviors, participate in safety initiatives, and attend safety-related training.
Ensure work and products meet or exceed Quality Assurance and Compliance standards and specifications.
Initiate and support continuous improvement in the department, operations, and facility.
Support teamwork within the department and across the facility.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, safety policies, and other company policies.
Ensure product meets the proper specifications.
Track downtime downstream of the filler and other applicable equipment in the area.
Perform weight and code checks at the required intervals.
Clean the machine regularly during production and maintain floor cleanliness.
Complete required Master Sanitation Schedule items daily.
Pass information on to the incoming shift.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
