About The Position

The Cultural Resources Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality cultural resources consulting services through hands-on technical execution and project support. This role focuses on conducting and supporting fieldwork, research, reporting, and regulatory compliance efforts across a variety of projects. The ideal candidate is a strong technical practitioner with experience in cultural resource management who can contribute to project success through reliable execution, attention to detail, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant cultural resources experience
  • Experience supporting or leading fieldwork and preparing technical documentation
  • Familiarity with Section 106 and NEPA compliance processes
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in field and office settings
  • Strong organizational, technical writing, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Meets or is working toward meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cultural resources fieldwork, including archaeological surveys, site recording, monitoring, and documentation
  • Perform background research, records reviews, and literature reviews to support project needs
  • Prepare and contribute to technical reports, including survey reports, eligibility assessments, and compliance documentation
  • Support projects subject to Section 106, NEPA, NHPA, and applicable federal, state, tribal, and local regulations
  • Assist with project coordination, including schedules, deliverables, and data management
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of field data, documentation, and technical deliverables
  • Coordinate with internal teams and support communication with clients, agencies, and stakeholders as needed
  • Maintain familiarity with cultural resources regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Support QA/QC processes for deliverables and assist in maintaining technical standards
